Summer is in Full Swing...

It has been a blast getting to know you guys better so far this summer at our Tuesday Night BS! And the trips to Ham's afterwards for trivia night can't be beat. We'll take this week off, since it's the 4th of July, but will resume again on July 11th at the Watson's house. And of course, I'm sure there will be a trip to Ham's afterwards.

Starting this Sunday you can register for Passion '07, Jan 1-4 in Atlanta, Ga. The flyers will be available in the SS classroom, at the back of the FLC. See ya there!

Leaving the Country...

Hey guys, it's been great catching up with you all this summer. Last Tuesday was awesome, thanks for coming to the softball game. And trivia aftwards was a blast! We'll definetly do that again. I'm heading out to Scotland this afternoon to catch up with the youth choir, but don't worry, everything will still be going strong here. Barbara will be meeting you guys at the Whitworth's this week at 7pm. I look forward to seeing you when I get back!!

Tuesday Night B.S. Starts Tomorrow

Our first Tuesday Night B.S. starts tomorrow. We'll be meeting at the Nelson's house at 7pm. We'll have lots of time for catching up and meeting new people as well as a short Bible Study (so bring your Bibles!). Hope to see you there!

Everything Starts this Sunday...

I just wanted to drop a quick reminder that this Sunday is the start of our Summer Programing. The College Sunday School will begin this Sunday in the Scout Room, at the back of the FLC. This is just around the corner from where we met last year. Mike Watson will be teaching again this summer.

Also, our very first Tuesday night B.S. is this Tuesday at the Nelson's house. If you are unsure how to get there, just drop me an email at youth(at)slumc.org and I'll make sure you find us. This starts at 7pm.

Just wanted to make a quick post and say good luck on the exams. I'm sure you all looking forward to the end of the semester, which is almost here. Be sure to stop in and see us here at St. Luke's during the Summer. Our first Tuesday night B.S. is coming up quickly, May 16 at the Nelson's house (let me know if you need directions).

I hope some of you are thinking about joing in the mission team this summer. We're heading to Lake Charles, La July 29 - Aug 5 and are taking a college team. We need your help to rebuild the Gulf Coast! Contact me to sign up.

I hope you guys had a great Easter Weekend. I'm sure by know that you are all back in your dorms or apartments, studying hard and preparing for finals. If you have made it to this webpage, then I assume you have recieved the SLY: College Edition Newsletter and have seen the long list of opportunitities for you this summer. I hope you'll plan to join us on some of them. If you are thinking about joing the mission team at the end of July, please contact me as soon as you can. I need to get some numbers turned in soon.
Care packages will be going out this week, so be sure to check your boxes at the first of next week. Also, if you haven't gotten a newsletter yet, please let me know so I can get one out to you ASAP. Have a great week!

Summer 2006

I'm working hard on a plan for this Summer. You guys are all spread out so far that it makes it hard to get in touch. This summer we will have a weekly gathering on Tuesday nights at different houses around Hickory. I'm also working on a summer Mission trip to the Gulf Coast, most likely in conjunction with the youth trip. I'm open to any other suggestions you guys might have. I've been way too slow to update this page. Passion was incredible this year. I have some pics I'll try to post in the next week or so. This weekend the youth group is heading to Boone for Summit. If any of you are in the area, stop by and see us. We'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Boone. Don't forget to pass along this website to all of the St Luke's College people!

Passion Final Stuff

I tried to email everyone on the list about the details for Passion, but i'm going to post that email here too, just in case I missed someone. It was great to see many of you last night at the Progressive. If something has changed and you are no longer going to Passion, please let me know ASAP. Here is the list of people going: Robbie Brown, Drew Stanley, Catie Cain, Chris Kale, Rachel Cyer, Ashley Tyndall, Tiffany Smith, Will Roberts, Leah Garrard, Eric Witworth. Oh, and Charlie Brown is going down with us as well.

Passion Email

Ok guys, here is the final information for Passion 06. We'll be meeting at the church at 8am on Jan 2. Remember that you'll need money for food while you are at Passion. We'll eat as cheaply as we can, or whatever you prefer! Barbara Watson will be bringing you guys to Nashville, we're I'll meet up with you (I have to be there on the 31st for a wedding, so i'm just gonna hang there and wait on you!). We'll return on Jan 5, most likely around 9pm. I'll be out of town with the youth next week for Ski Trip, but please feel free to call me if you have any quetsions. Just leave a message and I'll call back when I get off the slopes that day! I'm not sure that I'll have access to email, so it's probably better to call next week. We'll be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Vanderbilt. I look forward to seeing you all in Nashville on the 2nd. You can get my cell phone number from the church.

Christmas Progressive Dinner...

Our Annual Christmas Progressive Dinner is fast aproaching. Tuesday, Dec 20 is the date. If you can't make it to the first house, just drop in with us when you can. The plan is for Appetizers at the Roberts with the Main Course at the Nelsons, followed by a trip around the corner to the Watson's for dessert. I hope you can catch up with us on the 20th. Yes, I know this is a blog and not really a full fledge website, but I think it will serve our purposes very well. My hope is that this will become not only a place for information about the College Ministry here at St. Luke's, but also a place for you guys to connect with each other.
